Welcome to Maraenui Bilingual School, situated in the heart of Maraenui, in the Hawkes Bay area.
We are a vibrant Bilingual School, offering quality learning opportunities and education in and through Te Reo Māori and English, for Primary school aged children from Year 1 to Year 8.
I feel privileged to be asked to lead Te Kura Reo Rua o Maraenui this term. This is a special place, filled with people who care about and work hard for all of the tamariki. I was told that Ngāti Kahungunu lead with Manaaki and that is so true. I feel truly humbled by the welcome.
Maraenui Bilingual School offers teaching and learning in either bilingual (Reo Rua) or full immersion (Rumaki) classes. Te Ao Māori is the lens through which we approach all teaching and learning, supporting our tamariki to learn and lead with knowledge and understanding of their rightful place on this whenua, and in this world.
